01Getting started

PatchCord is a community-patched fork of Vencord that adds extra plugins, more frequent fixes, and settings that sync across every device you use. There are two ways to run it:

• Desktop installer — patches your local Discord desktop client directly and keeps itself updated automatically.
• Browser extension — a lightweight build for Chrome and Firefox that runs Discord in the browser with PatchCord already patched in.

Head to the download page to grab the right build for your platform.

02Installation

Desktop:

1. Close Discord completely (check your system tray, not just the window).
2. Download and run the PatchCord installer from the download page.
3. Follow the on-screen steps — the installer detects your existing Discord install automatically.
4. Relaunch Discord. You should see the PatchCord settings tab in Discord's settings panel.

Browser extension:

1. Install the extension from the download page for Chrome or Firefox.
2. Open discord.com in that browser — PatchCord loads automatically.
3. New builds must be re-downloaded manually; the extension does not auto-update.

03Plugins

PatchCord ships with every plugin available in base Vencord, plus a set of community-submitted plugins reviewed before being merged into a build. Manage plugins from Discord's settings under the PatchCord tab:

• Toggle individual plugins on or off without restarting Discord.
• Configure per-plugin options where available.
• Check the changelog for newly added or updated plugins.

04Settings sync

PatchCord can sync the settings you choose to a PatchCord cloud instance, so your plugin configuration follows you between the desktop app and browser extension. It doesn't read your messages or forward account data — only the sync data you opt into.

Sync is configured from the PatchCord → Sync tab in Discord's settings.

06Troubleshooting

• Discord won't launch after installing: reinstall using the latest installer from the download page, making sure Discord is fully closed first.
• PatchCord tab is missing from settings: confirm you're on a supported channel (see Compatibility above), then reinstall.
• Extension not loading: re-download the latest build — extensions don't auto-update.
• Settings didn't sync: double check sync is enabled on both devices under PatchCord → Sync.
